Air System Products Timer, Demand & Condensate Drains
Drains are often the most overlooked component in a compressed air system. They play a crucial role in the efficient operation of an air compressor by ejecting condensate from the system. If the drain isn’t functioning properly, the filters and separators won’t be able to do their jobs. As a result, oil, water and other contaminants will collect, leading to inefficient operation and significant equipment damage.
Fluid Aire Dynamics offers a wide variety of air system drains you can trust for your compressed air equipment. These high-quality products provide a host of benefits, such as saving compressed air, conserving energy and prolonging your system’s lifespan. Choose from multiple types based on your needs, budget and operating environment.
Timer Drains
Timer drains feature adjustable timers that enable you to control the discharge of the condensate based on your needs. Fluid Aire Dynamics offers several timer drain options.
dDVT720
The dDVT720 drain series features a digital timer interface that enables you to program numerous adjustable open and closed valve settings for maximum precision. Indicator lights allow you to view the valve status with a quick glance. An easy-to-read backlit LED display facilitates accurate programming in various lighting environments. This advanced timer drain also comes with a compact, durable housing that protects it from damage and lengthens its lifespan.
Posi-Drain
This premium timer drain operates via a chopping action that creates a straight-through flow without clogs. The timer activates a magnetic coil that slides up the seal assembly, producing an unobstructed path for the condensate. When the timer reaches its preset time limit, the coil de-energizes, which causes the seal assembly to return to the closed position. The chopping motion also helps produce a positive, air-free seal by removing contaminants from the surfaces.
Sure-Drain — Solenoid Valve
The Sure-Drain fully adjustable solenoid-style timer drain effectively removes water and oil from compressed air systems. This solid state timer drain uses an energized coil that initiates a drain cycle, which causes the valve to open and the condensate to drain. The valve then closes after the de-energizing of the coil. This product features a sturdy design that can withstand the rigors of heavy use.
BVD — Ball Valve Drain
BVD drains are also referred to as automatic ball valve drains. These heavy-duty drains feature a valve operated by a gear motor. The energized gear motor rotates the ball valve 180 degrees from the closed to open position, which initiates the drain cycle. It takes approximately five seconds to drain the condensate, ensuring fast results.
Demand Drains
Demand drains are also known as zero-loss drains because they remove condensate from compressed air systems with minimal or no air pressure loss. We offer multiple demand drain products, and internal and external pneumatic operated condensate drain and electric condensate drain options are available.
Robo-Drain RD11
This drain is compatible with oil/water separators. It operates automatically without electricity, which reduces your company’s energy costs. The condensate passes into the drain through the inlet connections and pools inside the specially designed reservoir. This process causes the float mechanism to rise, which activates an isolated magnetic trigger assembly when the condensate reaches a specific level. The opening of a drain valve allows the condensate to leave the unit.
The RD11 features a reliable design that resists damage due to contaminants. Its non-clogging properties save air, which also reduces operating costs. It’s ideally suited for most air compressor system installations.
Robo-Drain RD13
This large-capacity zero-loss drain features fully pneumatic, electricity-free operation and robust 72-ounce discharge capacity, making it well-suited for larger air compressor installations. The automatic design allows for on-demand service, which saves time and offers convenience. The low profile enables the drain to fit in tight spots on your shop floor.
The RD13 is a non-clogging drain, which conserves air and contributes to lower ownership costs. There’s also an isolated trigger assembly that is not impacted by contaminants, ensuring a clean operating process and a longer product lifespan. The translucent reservoir makes the condensate level easy to see and allows for quick monitoring.
Robo-Drain RD750
These zero-loss condensate drains operate on-demand without the need for electricity. They deliver clean, dry compressed air at 80 psi to 130 psi. The 24-ounce capacity enables these large-volume condensate drains to handle your most challenging compressed air applications. The non-clogging design saves valuable time during your work processes and helps keep operating costs under control.
Other beneficial RD750 features include a full-port drain valve that can handle rust and scale with no clogging. The stainless steel vessel provides a design pressure of up to 750 psig. The unit’s operating temperature ranges from 32 degrees to 180 degrees Fahrenheit. With a weight of only 22 pounds, you can place the drain exactly where you need it and easily relocate it if needed.
Robo-Vac
Use these high-pressure zero-loss drains with your vacuum systems to produce dry, clean compressed air at up to 130 psi. They’re perfect for vacuum applications up to 26 inches. The heavy-duty industrial design enables one Robo-Vac to perform flawlessly for multiple compressed air systems. The unit discharges condensate at up to 24 ounces per cycle, which meets the needs of high-volume tasks.
The Robo-Vac also features a horizontal low-profile design and construction that enables it to fit in smaller areas with ease. The fully pneumatic operation means you don’t need electricity, which reduces your facility’s energy costs. Pressure capabilities range from zero to 250 psi.
Accu-Drain
This specially designed electric-operated condensate drain offers an energy-efficient compressed air system solution. The guillotine-style valve resists clogs, which increases efficiency and performance and saves time. The vertical design is compact, allowing you to place the unit exactly where you need it.
The Accu-Drain features precisely located indicator lights that enable you to view and monitor the drain’s status throughout the operating process. The reservoir also allows for quick checks of the condensate level. This drain comes in multiple sizes to meet the needs of any compressed air applications. Key specs include a compressor capacity of 1,125 cfm, dryer capacity of 2,250 cfm, filter capacity of 6,750 cfm and pressure range of 0 to 200 psi (ACD5 model).
Exactronic Drain System
These versatile electric condensate drains are ideal for most industrial compressed air applications. They combine the best of the timer-operated ball valve and float drains. They also feature a robust 50-ounce capacity that’s perfect for high-volume processes without wasting air, making them an energy-efficient drainage option. These drains do not have strainers that could clog and slow down the air compression process.
The Exactronic drain system has an operating temperature of 35 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit, electrical rating of NEMA 4X and pressure capacity of up to 200 psi.
EZ-Drain
The EZ-Drain is an internal pneumatic-operated condensate drain featuring an innovative “plug and play” design that makes it easy to install. You don’t need an external power utility, which gives you maximum flexibility. Due to the compact vertical construction, you can easily fit the unit into tight spaces. The drain’s versatility enables you to use it with everything from aftercoolers and drip legs to receivers, filters and dryers.
This drain also includes a full-port ball valve for fast contaminant discharge and preventing contaminants from clogging the unit. The advanced trigger assembly minimizes the risk of air loss, which saves time and lowers operating costs. The EZ-Drain has an operating temperature of 33 to 180 degrees Fahrenheit, pressure range of up to 200 psi and discharge capacity of 12 ounces per cycle.
Dehydra
This external pneumatic-operated condensate drain offers another electric-free option for your compressed air process. It’s incredibly versatile and provides compatibility with filters, receivers, dryers and aftercoolers. The unit’s small footprint enables it to fit in tight spots, which saves space in your facility.
The Dehydra features a condensate discharge rate of 52 ounces per cycle and a pressure capacity of up to 450 psi. It delivers clean, dry compressed air from 50 to 120 psi. At a weight of only 19 pounds, you can transport the drain around your facility with ease.
